Since we started 9tree i’ve began a wonderful daily routine, which i recommend to all who might read this.

8:30 AM : Wakeup

I usually take about 15 mins to get up + 5 mins do get ready and 10 mins to arrive at Cartaxo so i set my alarm clock to 8:30 .

9:00 AM : Daily sports

This one has completely changed my life. I was used to drive 1 hour to work (about 43 miles) and having to go through Lisbon’s heavy traffic in the morning.
Now i wake up every morning with a smile because i’m not going to drive long, not get into traffic and i’m not even going to work – i’m going to play soccer or basketball, maybe some tennis or a swim. Believe me, i now almost prefer weekdays to weekends.

10:00 AM : Bath & Breakfeast

Ahhh the cold 10 mins shower after sweating – so fine.
And a big breakfast to calm your stomach.

10:30 AM : Arriving at work, read/answer the emails

Arriving to work is supposed to be the boring part right? not quite.
Nobody here actually works upon arrival, we start by saying hi to everyone at work discussing the daily news, reading emails, setting to-dos, etc.

11:00 AM : Work a while

Now we work.
Layout design, cool new features, some open source development or old fashioned system administration.
We get it done.

12:30 PM : Lunch time!

Food! :D

2:00 PM : Read the news, write a post!

I usually read slashdot, portuguese news on publico and the latest comic on explosm .
A post doesn’t come around every day, but i try to post as often as possible.

2:30 PM : Worktime

Main worktime starts here.

4:00 PM : The pause

Have a coffe, a smoke and a talk with friend’s from work.

4:15 PM : Back to work!

Work continues.

7:30 PM : Go home or work late.

Here we usually make a choice depending on our moods. Sometimes we stay, sometimes we go.

8:00 PM : Dinner!

Ahhhh more food! :D

9:30 PM : Coffee with friends :)

Going out with friend’s for a coffee and chat is a must have.
When you don’t feel like it – how about a movie? latest Lost episode?

12:00 AM : Go to sleep :o

Well, ironically, the corporate need for resources has given us a peaceful answer to quest for our need for knowledge – the internet revolution, specifically with the web 2.0 innovations.

But what about reliability?

Imho the different opinions and points of view now show us what the world is really like. It’s not that everything on the internet is reliable – true. But the mix of the many different point’s of view on a subject allows us to define our own answer. In the internet you are your own “gatekeeper”.
Let’s face it, there will always be opposites, but there is a reason to everything everyone says – may it be environmental, corporative, physical, a thought, a feeling, or even a stupid comment.
The gathering of all this controversial information gives you – for yourself – an answer.
Truth itself, as we get it, is environmental and never absolute.
And if knowledge is just an organized gathering of information – web 2.0 is knowledge.

Some may say “What about expert knowledge?”.
Expert knowledge usually has a problem – the expert.
If the expert manages to step aside his own ideology, his expert knowledge will truly be the reasoned combination of all points of view.
But let’s face it, i’ve never seen this happening – every information is controlled.
But if we clash this controlled information from it’s various counterparts, we might get a clearer view of the so called “truth”.
All we need is as many angles as possible – and on the internet, everyone can have and is free to post their experience.
Wikipedia for example, works very hard trying to combine all these point’s of view and keep itself away from the discussion, but a decision must always allow some content to be posted – their only error imho is not to empathize more on the related discussions for each article – still, they’re one of the best information sources in the world.

The so feared violence of an anarchic system is now shielded behind an anonymous computer and long distances and the perfect environment for a real peaceful anarchy now exists on the virtual world.
Of course this release of the “i” requires understanding by the “others”.

When you read something, take it as another’s concept, not as a truth.
Read many concepts and you’ll innerly find your own.

Google, read, blog, comment, and pass it along.
